Senior Product Designer, AI & Web (f, m, d)

We are a startup digital agency, and no two projects, clients, or even days look the same. But all of our days are agentic-first.

In ecommerce we design and build on Shopify and Next.js, with custom apps that take Shopify well past the defaults.

On the marketing side we create highly customised sites in Next.js and React, with careful design and animation and a real focus on how the page performs and feels.

In automotive and other industries we design full platforms, AI tools and integrations, from stock-car locators to configurators and a lot more.

Across all of it, we bring AI into the work through our own products.

Design at OH-SO covers both product design and communication design, and we treat UI and content as one craft. We design with AI as a collaborator and for AI as a material. The artefact is code in a user's hand, not a Figma file waiting for approval.

Here nothing will be fixed. You will work across changing projects and settings, on long builds that run for months and shorter spikes to figure out how a business can actually use AI, and you will help us rethink how agency work is done.

Sound like your kind of place? Here is what we need from you.

• Fluent German (C1 or native) and very good English. Most of our clients for this role work in German, and you will present and run workshops in German every week.

• Typically 5+ years of designing digital products, with a portfolio that shows end-to-end ownership from concept to launched product.

• Recognised expertise in two or three areas, for example AI-native design, design systems, brand in product or communication design.

• Hands-on experience designing for generative or agentic AI, and a clear view of where these interfaces fail and how to design for those moments.

• AI as a daily working tool for research, exploration, prototyping and production. Every output passes through your craft and judgement before it ships.

• A working understanding of modern web development: components, states, responsive layout, performance and animation in React and Next.js. You can read code, prototype in it, and talk with engineers in their terms.

• Expert Figma skills (auto layout, variables, components, Dev Mode, Code Connect) and experience building design systems that engineering teams adopt and maintain.

• Writing as part of the design. You don't design a screen without its language, and that includes copy for AI-driven interfaces.

• Accessibility built in from the start (WCAG), and the habit of testing and validating your work and turning findings into design decisions.

• The ability to translate business goals into design decisions, make trade-offs explicit, decide, and stand by it.

• Confidence facilitating workshops, design sprints and critiques with clients, strategy and engineering

We're looking for a senior product designer who owns projects and their outcomes, sets the bar for craft, and makes both the team and the client better. You'll design products and platforms where AI is part of the experience: conversational and agentic interfaces, generative features, and the trust and error states that make them usable. 

You'll do it close to the code, in modern web stacks, working with engineers from the first sketch to the live implementation.

As Senior Product Designer at OH-SO, you:

• Own entire projects or major workstreams across product, content and brand in product, and define what "done" means in product and communication terms.

• Shape the main creative idea together with Strategy and Content, and drive design direction across all surfaces.

• Design AI-native experiences: conversational UX, prompt-aware patterns and agentic flows, along with the transparency, trust and error design that make them work for real users.

• Own the design system architecture of a project, including tokens, components, governance, Code Connect and handover documentation.

• Pair with engineering throughout the build, prototype in code when that is the faster way to an answer, and run design QA against the live implementation.

• Act as the primary design contact for the client. You lead workshops, handle difficult conversations, defend quality and say no when needed.

• Lead project teams of two to five designers and adjacent crafts, review and sign off their work, and mentor Junior and Intermediate designers.

• Use AI to define new ways of working, and share what works with the whole team: prompt libraries, generation playbooks, skills and delivery patterns.

We are a bunch of colleagues originally from similar backgrounds who got tired of how things were usually done and set out to find better ways. That is the whole reason this company exists, and it is still what we are doing.

We are not a place of rockstars and egos. People here ask questions out loud, show rough work without flinching, and would rather help each other get something right than look clever alone. We push each other, in the good way, and we do not take ourselves too seriously while we are at it.

You would be joining that. You'll work closely with engineers, strategists and content people, and just as easily with the people steering the projects and the business. There is no wall between you and any of it. As a senior, you'll be in pitches, client conversations and the bigger calls from the start, and when you want more, speak up and the door is open.
